On a recent trip to Florida, the wife and I rented a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car Orlando Airport. We told the lady at the counter we wanted it for 2 days and would be dropping it off in Port Canaveral before boarding a cruise. The receipt I signed for said the total bill would be $193.

Fast Forward to my credit card receipt that says we were charged $484. A $291 difference. When I called customer service they said because it was a 1-way rental, the daily rate was $159/day NOT $39/day. Cue The Champ, and I spent the better part of 20 minutes losing my voice (and mind). They said this issue would be “escalated” to a supervisor and I’d be getting a call from them. That was last week. Suffice it to say we won’t be renting from Enterprise (or their other companies) again.

What’s the WORST customer service you’ve ever experienced? Been ripped off like we were before?

Behold the power of Twitter. Here’s the response I got…

Update March 15

They did the right thing and refunded the overcharge.
