2020 has taken its toll on the rock world, and sadly Jack Sherman, former guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers joins his fellow rockers in the big blue sky at the age of 64.

It was announced early this morning (August 22nd) that Sherman, who replaced founding member Hillel Slovak in December 1983 until Slovak’s return in 1985, passed away. Currently a cause of death hasn’t been shared.

Sherman played on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ self-titled debut album and is credited with co-writing much of Freaky Styley, even though he wasn’t inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame with the rest of the band in 2012.

May Jack Sherman rest In peace.
