Speculation about an Oasis reunion has been swirling for years, gaining momentum as their breakthrough album “Definitely Maybe” celebrated its 30th anniversary in early 2024. While official announcements remain elusive, band members have intermittently fuelled these rumours in various interviews.

Now, Gene Gallagher, Liam’s son and nephew of Noel, has added his voice to the discussion. In a recent interview with The Times, Gene revealed that his father is keen on the idea of reuniting the iconic Britpop band. “I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints,” the guitarist and songwriter shared.

Gene denied being sworn to secrecy about any future plans and expressed his personal desire to see the reunion happen. “It’s nothing to do with me…I mean, will they? I don’t know. I would love it but it’s so beyond my control,” he said. He also mentioned that he and Noel’s daughter, Anaïs, have joked about staging an intervention for the famously feuding brothers, though they admit the two are “too smart for that.”

As fans continue to hope for the band’s return, Gene’s comments add an intriguing layer to the ongoing saga of an Oasis reunion.
